Can We Save Our Oceans?

For centuries, Lunar has been a symbol of femininity and personal evolution, governing the realm of our subconscious emotions - the part of ourselves we often can’t express, but feel so deeply in our soul. Lunar encourages us to look inward, as her phases represent the cyclical patterns of change and transformation in our lives, where we are constantly learning, letting go, and growing. When we embrace Lunar, our most authentic selves can be revealed.

Back to the Wild

Judas Kiss

2024

Short Film

Amara and Jasper epitomise the fantasy of young love. It would appear that nothing could taint the palpable affection they hold for one another. But the aftermath of Jasper’s house party the night before marks a crack in their seemingly flawless entwinement, when Amara finds a troubling photo on Jasper’s phone with another girl. As Amara tries to delve deeper into the truth behind what happened that night, tensions begin to rise. A lacy red bra is the last piece of evidence Amara needs to find the courage to stand up for herself in the midst of Jasper’s lies.

The Fortitudes: Chasing Innocence

2024

Mini Documentary

There is no denying that 'The Fortitudes' are the ones to watch in Brisbane's local band scene, with their Powderfinger rock vibe and dynamic live performances that draw in the most energetic of crowds. But who are the boys behind the band? Dive-in to find out the challenges that arise during life backstage when you're just two best mates with a dream.

The Morning Rush

2024

Factual Sequence

Developed for a university assignment, the purpose of this sequence was to demonstrate the technique of cutting on continuous action within a scene. Despite containing some continuity errors, I feel my films imperfections are integral to showcasing the learning process behind mastering these skills. My concept follows the progression of a girl doing her morning beauty routine before realising she is running late to work and must rush out the door.

My Creative Voice

2024

Video Presentation

When beginning my second year of university studies (and first year of film production), I wanted to create something that distinctly demonstrated my creative style, in order for myself and others to understand my vision as an artist as I begin my practical filmmaking journey. This 60-second clip journeys through the story that led me to my life-long dream of becoming a filmmaker.

In today's world, creative practitioners continue to face undeserved judgement surrounding their career choice, often being seen as 'insignificant', 'easy', and for people who are 'incapable' of attaining a career in a traditionally well-respected field of work. In collaboration with some talented QUT creatives, this piece presents an uplifting and inspiring message to let the brightness of your artistic identity shine, despite what others may think.

Hopeless Country

2022

Short Film/Multi-Modal Presentation

Through a strong and highly evocative monologue piece, a young Indigenous girl reveals to us the harsh reality of our cultures treatment of First Nations People, describing the story of her brothers death at the hands of police. Although developed for a QCAA literature assignment, this piece of work showcases my creative writing and storytelling skills.

If you aren’t creating from the heart, then what are you really creating? Since I was a little girl, a piece of me has always been in everything I create, from notebooks filled with stories about fairies and mermaids, to little movies I made with my cousins about spies and tales of rising up against the mean popular girl at school. In every story, there was a reflection of the girl I was at that time, which made the moments I was developing those stories so much more magical. Now, here I am, an aspiring young filmmaker from Brisbane, Australia, with a mission to establish a production company dedicated to telling female-centred stories, focusing on themes of identity, girlhood, transition, and growth. My goal is to create an array of productions; from short films to cinematic works, television series, and music videos, that each explore the authentic and constantly evolving aspects of our identity. What sets my vision apart is my commitment to personally writing and directing many of these stories.

My passion is driven by a deep love for storytelling and using the art of filmmaking to connect with audiences in a profoundly intimate way. At the heart of my work lies my belief in the power of visual subtlety to foster uniquely empathetic connections with audiences. My hope is for each individual member of my audience to experience the deeply personal moment of seeing themselves, their story and their identity, reflected on screen. Through film, I aim to bring people closer together, encouraging understanding of our shared human experiences.

My life-long love of writing and directing allows me to infuse authenticity into every project, offering a nuanced exploration of the female experience. Through utilising my distinctive filmmakers voice and immersing myself in a range of different production mediums, I aim to bring an array of stories to life. These narratives serve to create discussions surrounding mental health, interpersonal relationships, and the unavoidable occurrence of change and adjustment in our lives.

My dual degree focus and an enthusiasm for entertainment marketing drives me to explore new ways of storytelling to captivate the audiences I wish to connect with, ably supporting me in my filmmaking endeavours and allowing myself the ability to make strategic decisions surrounding showcasing my work.

This venture is not merely about filmmaking. It's about uncovering the voices and experiences that often go unheard. The intricate pathways of our lives are so vastly different, but the emotions we feel are all the same. Words can not describe how excited I am to embark on this journey with you, but the love within my films can.
